Frequently Asked Questions

1 / How long are sessions?

Sessions usually range between 55 minutes, but please let me know if you have specific time constraints so I can help accommodate for your needs.

2 / What can I expect in the first session?

The first session will focus on discussing the symptoms of your presenting problems and gathering history information. Although you won't be forced to talk about things you're not ready to talk about, the more thorough the information, the more I can understand how to best help meet your needs.

3 / Will I have to talk about things I don't want to talk about?

No, I do seek to challenge my clients (that's how we grow after all), I do my best to meet them wherever their comfort level is. Although the therapeutic relationship is unique, I do understand that most people don't like to talk about their own challenges and vulnerabilities with a stranger. There are complementary bottles of water and coffee for you to enjoy as we build rapport and get to know each other.

4 / What if I'm not sure if this is a good fit?

Please feel free to discuss your concerns with me, but I am also happy to try to refer you to someone else if you would like. I do encourage anyone interested in therapy to interview their therapist to assess whether or not they are a good fit. However, it's often a good idea to participate in a few sessions before you make your final determination.

5/ Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Cigna.
